Coinciding with the opening of the new toy camera shop Oh Shoot! is the launch of Lomo Spotted, an exhibit by LomoManila.
Yet another blank wall has been covered with vivid images shot with plastic cameras by the people who love them. Colorful and dreamy, the images take you to that fleeting moment when the photos were taken.
This lomo wall is a celebration of the bliss of spotting everyday objects that can be immortalized on film, of focusing the spotlight on what is unique and creative and of finding a spot where your passions rule.
This spot is Oh Shoot! and LomoManila marks this spot.See you on Saturday, 17 May 2008 at 8:00pm to 12:00mn, at the Loft of Unit G-B, Murphy Center, 187 Boni Serrano Road, Quezon City
Daan kayo... Sumilip sa mga picture.. Magpa-picture sa wall na panay picture... Pero ingat lang sa mga guard... 8 Lomowalls installed at Bonifacio High Street infront of Fridays from 09-31 May 2008! View posters herePhotos grabbed from Jill Lejano

The smell of fresh cut grass, or the muddy field. Blistering heat or heavy downpour. Strapping on shinguards, putting on cleats and tightening of laces. Baba! Pasa! Sugod! Poste! Trips, falls, mud-eating, shoe-flying... Flips, passes, blocks, tackles, fakes, kicks... 22 (or 14) girls after a ball and a goal. Soccer, football, footie, futsal. Win or lose, it's LOVE.
For 12 Sundays only. (Nov2007-Nov2008) Every 3rd Sunday of the month, we gather by the bay to watch the glorious Philippine sunset together. We sit and chat and look at how many other people believe that change should happen. No poetry, no songs, no placards, none. Just silence.
Let the people in power come up with their own idea of why they think we get together. Like we always say, "whatever it is you think we're protesting, you're probably right." Our silence is not inaction. It just elegantly says, "ang labo niyo, wala kaming masabi."
street translation: ang kokorap nyo. formal translation: change will happen only if I'm part of it. artistic translation: our silence is not indifferent, we're aware and observing and together. Gang's translation: here's a finger.
Actually, whatever Sunday Silence is --is your call. Try it out. This is the 4th of a series of just 12.

I love making lists. At dahil C- ako dun sa previous post ko. These are places in the Philippines that is a must for me to see. In no particular order...
1. Batanes - It's too damn far...the travel must be an adventure in itself. May signal kaya ng cellphone doon?
2. Pagudpud - White sand beaches, Boracay of the North daw. Wish ko lang hindi maging as commercialized as what Boracay is now.
3. Palawan - I have to go back! There's too much to do and see! Puerto Princesa, El Nido, and more of Coron. I'll come back for you, Nemo!
4. Bukidnon - Endless pineapples, i love it! I want to see the Benedictine monastery where it all started. Pasensya na dugong Bedan, eh.
5. Davao - I have to see and smell durian in their natural habitat! Hahaha! Oh, pomelo and mangosteen, too!
6. Cebu - It's been 20 years ago. Wala pa akong muwang sa mundo non. Para din makakita pa ng ibang Sunit sa Pilipinas.
7. Bohol - Just a ferry ride away from Cebu. Hearing the Loboc Children's Choir would be a bonus!
8. CamSur - Wakeboarding. Magffeeling athletic, or just look the part? We'll see...
9. Siargao - Surfing. Same reason as #8
10. Leyte - I am intrigued by the beauty of Leyte's beaches from friends' photos. Tsaka para makita ko ang hacienda ng mga Astorga for real. Hehehehe!

My Lakbayan grade is C-! How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan! Created by Eugene Villar.
Here in the Philippines, having long, flowing, right-out-of -the-shampoo-commercial straight hair is one of the standards of beauty. Although I would not trade for my curly locks anytime soon, I would imagine this contraption to sell like hotcakes in public restrooms here! Credit: The Cool Hunter It's Saturday night, the music is pumping and you are on a hot date . Everything is going down fine until the humidity in the club suddenly turns your hair from Cher to Macy Gray in about 7 seconds.Fear not, entrepreneurs, Richard Starrett and Neil Macka, have come to the rescue with their Hot Iron vending machine. With 500 units already placed in clubs/gyms throughout the U.K , the Beautiful Vending company provide coin operated hair straightening hot irons, for the quick and convenient use of club patrons who's hair has suddenly gone 'poof'.Using professional grad GHD tongs, the irons run for 2 minutes per use and cost $2.00. The idea is perfect for countries where the weather can be unpredictable and affect recently straightened hair. By Lisa Evans
